Hello -

The girls who played today did awesome! They all deserve a pat on the back for the great things they did today.

The Colby Tournament did have to make some schedule changes. While the time is still 1-6, the girls could be playing in all 3 locations. I believe that the blue is just calling out that those teams play in both in the middle and high school. I'm told everything is in one building and there will be signs!

I believe that this tournament is a donation for entry but they would appreciate us to purchase from concessions.

Team Black will have an extra game and Team Orange is encourage to watch if possible!

After the last game we will group for 3 minutes to remind the the girls how great of a job they did and what is upcoming for next week.

The Colby Tournament has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 16th (8-1).

This means we have a busy weekend of tournaments that weekend. If you could fill out the spreadsheet and let me know if you are able to attend the 16th, I would appreciate it.

This also means that the teams that were sent last week will be changed depending on who is able to attend.

I also want to add we were only able to get 1 team in for the Spencer tournament, but we play 5 different schools so the girls still should get quite a bit of playing time.

Hello Everyone!!

The girls are really doing a great job! Looking at the past few weeks they really have improved, which is awesome since many haven't played before. Keep encouraging the girls to practice setting, bumping and serving if possible. Fingers crossed that soon it will be warm enough to practice outside a bit.

If you could over the next week please let me know or fill in the spreadsheet below if your daughter will be able to attend. At this time we have 5 tournaments that High-Fives will participate in. I have posted the details of what I have from the locations in the tabs. Please note that all these games are free to our players but spectators will be charged. T-shirt Jerseys should be in for our first game.

TODAY IS FIRST PRACTICE

Before practice starts I would like to use the first 15 minutes to introduce myself and provide time for any Questions and Answers. I will also explain the difference between the 2 clubs we are in.

Happy Superbowl Sunday! Just a few items of clarification for the upcoming season:

1.) Please be sure to reference the calendar on clubhubs of when/where practices and Tournaments are. First Practice is 2/19/23 at 4:00 PM at Old Armory (we were able to start practice earlier than 4:30 which is mentioned in a prior announcement.) If you can't attend a tournament that is ok, we will ask in advance of each tournament to confirm who is attending. Since there is spring break and Easter coming soon, practices may change and we will let you know as soon as possible if they do.

2.) We are in the process of ordering jersey's this week. Many of the girls wanted the number 11, thank you for providing back up numbers. Numbers were assigned when registrations came in. As soon as the Jersey's are available, we will distribute.

3.) Price: $35.00 (this covers the price of practice and jersey), if we participate in tournaments with Great Northwest, there is an additional charge. Colby tournaments are free to play but may have a cover charge to come in. At the first practice please bring Cash or Check (check made payable to: High Fives Volleyball Club)

Good Morning 5th grade families!

I found out about a more local league based out of Colby earlier this week vs. the league that we had originally found in GreenBay. The league based out of Colby is less travel and significantly less expensive.

Right now we have 27 - 5th grade girls interested! This is awesome! It's great to see so many who want to be involved. With that said, we only have 3 parents who have committed to coaching, if you could help that would be greatly appreciated. We are looking at starting practice end of February 1-2 days a week (depending on availability of gym, which we are still working on trying to reserve) and games will be on Saturday.

Regarding Teams, with 27 girls this means we will have different teammates each week.  Come middle school, you will be on same team every week. At this age, we want to encourage the skills and learning. We could have potentially 3 teams on the weekend depending on how many girls can make it. Depending on where we play, 2 of the 3 teams could be at the same location.

We do request that the girls wear kneepads, bring their own volleyball as well (I'm confirming volleyball sizes this week)

A Registration link (which will include a waiver) will be created this weekend. Our goal is to keep this under $30.00. Final price of what this costs will be sent out before the first practice.

 

Finally, we do not have a Team Name. If you could please give us some ideas, we would greatly appreciate it! Please ask your daughter for input!!

Information was received today from the Volleyball League! Please expect communication coming out regarding a full Registration in the upcoming days!!

We are up to 26 5th graders interested! That is awesome. As a reminder, I'm waiting on information from https://www.gnbl.org/page/show/1089009-2021-enrollment-information

I expect the official Sign up to occur in early January!

Is your daughter interested in participating in Volleyball this school year?

 

A few of us are working on organizing a team/teams for 5th grade girls. In order to ensure we have enough volunteer coaches, we need to know the level of interest.

 

We would be participating with the Wisconsin Independent Volleyball League. Additional information about the league can be found here: https://www.gnbl.org/page/show/934478-w-e-l-c-o-m-e

 

TIME: Season would be Early February until Mid-May.

Practice would be 1-2 times a week and games are played on Saturdays. Practice Dates have not been decided yet.

 

The actual tournaments/games won't be available until 2023. In the event we have multiple teams, our intent is to have all teams go together to the same location. The number of teams depends on how many people are interested.

 

COST: This depends on the level of interest. This will be supplied in January during Registration.

 

WHO: This is available for girls in 5th grade. There is not a co-ed option at this time. 

Please note: If you are already playing for a team in Marshfield and plan to continue with that team, please continue to work with your existing contacts.

 

WHAT ELSE? We would be looking for volunteers! If you are able to help coach, we would be interested in hearing from you.

 

With this being our first year organizing this opportunity, we are asking for your patience and understanding while we work through questions and processes.
