Marathon Wrestling Club meeting October 18th - 6PM at the Sonnentag Wrestling Facility.

Coach Grant is switching preseason practice from Tuesdays to Mondays. And this coming Thursday the 12th we won't have practice. We will have practice Friday on the 13th.

Attention all youth wrestlers planning on wrestling at Preseason Nationals (11/11/2023) in Lacrosse, practice will start this Thursday October 5th at 4pm. Practices will be out at Sonnetag's facility every Tuesday Thursday from 4-5:30 until Preseason Nationals.

Marathon wrestlers will be recognized at an awards ceremony at Fun Days Saturday at 630 PM.

Wrestlers wanting to ride the parade float should be at the Sports Center by 1230 on Sunday. Look for a big County Materials truck.

The kids will need to be picked up at the Sports Center following the parade.

The Marathon Wrestling Club is meeting Wednesday August 16th 6PM at the Sonnentag facility.

All who are interested in becoming more involved in the club are encouraged to attend.

The club is looking for motivated individuals to fill roles throughout the structure. There are opportunities to support the Youth, Middle School, and HS levels as well as club events.

We are just over a week away from our Marathon Wrestling Camp. Location has been set and will be at MAES. If you have not yet signed up please do so soon. We also have decided to get shirts made for the camp at no additional charge. If you would like to attend camp and get a shirt please sign up by Sunday (July 23). You can still sign up after Sunday you just won’t receive a shirt.

To all high/middle schoolers if you are only able to make it to a couple of sessions through the duration of camp. Please still sign up. I would rather see you at one session than miss the entire camp.

We are excited to offer a great summer wrestling opportunity here in Marathon. We will be hosting a camp Monday July 31st- Wednesday August 2nd. Camp will be held at the high school or elementary school (we are still working these details out). Cost of camp will be $20per wrestler.

All high school & middle schoolers in fall sports will be able to leave a session early to make it to fall sports practice on time. If you need a ride to and/or from camp please reach out and we will be more than happy to work something out to get you there.

Weekly Freestyle practice will go through June 29th.

Freestyle practices have been moved to Thursdays 5-630.

Coach Grant is offering introductory Freestyle practice for anyone interested in learning this Olympic wrestling style.

Practices will be held at the Sonnentag facility from 5-630 Tuesday evenings starting 4/11.

With the youth folkstyle wrestling season wrapping up this week, it is time to return the club singlets.

For everyone done competing, please bring them to the MAES multipurpose room tomorrow or Tuesday 6-7 PM.

I will have your deposit check to return to you at that point.

The Marathon Wrestling Club fund raiser is this Saturday from 3-9PM at the Sports Center. Drinks and pizza will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to socialize with other wrestling families, and support the club.

Reminder: All raffle money and unsold tickets must be turned in by Thursday at the latest. Earlier is appreciated. You can get them to Ben Salber or bring them to Tuesday or Thursday 6pm practice.

The youth team is heading to Edgar on Sunday.

Practices are canceled tonight (2/27)due to school closure.

Reminder: no practices tomorrow due to school academic need for the multipurpose room.

This will move the final regular season practices to Thursday 3/2.

Practices for the regional competition eligible group will go until 3/23.

The school needs the multipurpose room on Tuesday, so we will be unable to practice.

In return, we were able to secure the room on Monday so we will have practice for both age groups.

A Regional Preparation practice has been added each Monday, except 2/27, for 2nd-5th grade wrestlers preparing for the Youth Regional Qualifier and State Tournaments.

These Monday 6-7PM practices will be more intense, and focused on honing advanced skills.

Tuesday and Thursday practice will continue as scheduled through February.

Weigh-ins and registration are 7-8am tomorrow.

The club will be paying for wrestlers competing at Wausau West this Sunday 2/12.

Registration is different for this tournament. It is on-site only.

I will have the sign-up form at practice tomorrow and will be turning it in on Friday to ensure we all get in before they reach capacity.

Registration for Marshfield's Sunday tournament is closed as of now.

I just spoke to the coordinator and they are not able to accept additional registrations for any age/ weight.

There are two close youth tournaments this weekend. Both are using TrackWrestling for registration.

Coach Grant and a handful of families are heading to Marshfield Sunday.

2nd-5th grade practice has to be cut short tonight (Tuesday) due to a schedule conflict in the multipurpose room.

All paper registrations submitted have also been loaded into Clubhubs. Look for an email message from Marathon Wrestling Club via Clubhubs, this confirms your wrestler(s) are accounted for.

Parents should plan to attend the Parent's Meeting at the beginning of the 12/13/22 practice.

Practices are held weeknights at the Marathon Area Elementary School (MAES) multipurpose room/cafeteria, and generally run from December through February. Youth practices are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays. Middle School and High School practice or compete Monday – Friday after school.
