Thursday's MS & 2nd-5th grade practice has been moved to Wednesday from 3:15-5pm. If you're in 2nd-5th and ride the bus you can ride to transfer and get off at the HS.

Lots of great wrestling yesterday. Our program showed up in outstanding numbers to Merrill and Westby. We had 38 total wrestlers competing! That has to be a record! We should all be proud of the hard work and dedication everyone has put in this season. I know it's a long season but the kids continue to put in the work and it shows. We had 21 total qualifiers who will represent our program at youth state next weekend.

The qualifier picture is today at 12:30pm in the HS wrestling room. Please wear a Marshfield wrestling t-shirt and your medal.

No late 2nd-5th grade practice since many are leaving for weigh-ins Thursday evening.

If you are in 2nd-5th and coming to a MS practice you won't be able to enter the HS until the last bell rings at 3:06pm. Tuesday and Thursday are shortened practices since there is an indoor track meet we need to end early.

First off, thank you for deciding to continue wrestling this season. The Marshfield's wrestling program is as strong as it is because of the extra effort put in.

Practices will be 3 days a week (Mon, Tue, Thu). Next week will be the only week at the middle school. If you are in 6th grade I'm told there will still be a bus that will take them to the MS.

Starting March 6th, practices will be at the HS. Wrestlers can ride the bus to transfer and get off at the HS.

If you do plan to come to youth state we are planning on having our traditional after party at Clarion Suites (located next to the Alliant Energy Center) following the last round Saturday night. Pizza, cake and cookies will be proved by the club.

Our regular season is now over and we transition into the “post season”. Everyone in 2nd-5th grade is welcome to continue wrestling at no additional fee. Our post season practices will become more advanced and focused towards preparing for youth state which is in March.

Please check our calendar for practice details. If your wrestler was born in 2015 or before he/she is eligible to wrestle at a youth state qualifier tournament for a chance to make it to youth state.

Youth state is March 24th and 25th in Madison at the Alliant Energy Center. In order to participate at youth state your wrestler must take 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at a qualifying (regional) tournament. The list of 8 qualifying tournaments along with eligible birth years and weights can be found on the Wisconsin Federation website (https://www.wiwrestlingfederation.com/page/show/981036-kids-folkstyle-state-qualifiers).

A USA Wrestling membership is required for all participating wrestlers. A membership can be purchased from the USA Wrestling Membership website (https://www.usawmembership.com). We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at a discounted rate at Clarion Suites. Parents can stay 1 - 3 nights at the group rate of $154 per night. The block and discounted rate expires on March 19th. Even if you don’t plan to participate this is a great opportunity to watch your teammates and spend time outside the wrestling room with other club members.

Sorry for the late noticed but coaches will be at the Marathon tournament this upcoming Sunday. Going forward we are planning to list upcoming tournaments on the whiteboard in the wrestling room. We encourage parents who plan to attend those tournaments put their name on the board so other parents can see where teammates will be.

Friday January 20th is our youth dual vs Auburndale. Sign up here if you plan to attend. Please arrive at Auburndale HS at 5:30pm so we can get started by 6pm. Pizza and Gatorade will be provided after the dual. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday (1/18) at noon.

The MS pre-season practices start on Tuesday (Dec 6th) from 3:10pm - 4:45pm in the MS wrestling room. If your wrestler doesn't attend the MS please enter through door #7 (the loading dock door in the back parking lot).

Practices start on Monday December 5th from 5:45pm - 6:45pm for PreK thru 1st grade and 6:45 - 8:15pm for 2nd thru 5th graders. The full calendar can be found here. All practices will be in the HS wrestling room which is located in the north east part of the gymnasium up the stairs. There will be an informational meeting for all parents during the first practice in the HS commons.

Wrestlers should wear a t-shirt, shorts and wrestling shoes (or clean tennis shoes). A head gear is not required but recommended.

There will be 5 pre-season MS practices. These practices are FREE for all 6th-8th graders but we do need you to register through ClubHubs via https://clubhubs.com/reg134 so waivers can be signed.

All on Mondays from 5-6pm for wrestlers entering K-6th grade and 6-7:30pm for wrestlers entering 7th-12th grade.

On Monday, February 21st from 6-7:30 we will have a photographer available to take a team picture and individual pictures if interested. Please arrive by 6pm so we can organize your wrestler for a team picture at 6:15pm. Individual pictures to follow.

I know the PreK thru 1st graders haven't practiced in a couple weeks but it would be great to get as many in the team picture as possible.

What to wear: Marshfield Youth singlet. If you don't have one we will have one to borrow.

In order to coach at any/all WWF State Folkstyle Qualifiers, one must be a current Wrestling Leader member of USA Wrestling. This membership can be obtained through USA Wrestling’s membership system at www.usawmembership.com, where one will be able to access the mandatory background screening and SafeSport training. At the state tournament an additional Copper certification is required to coach mat side.

Due to shortages and delays we need to order state t-shirts before the qualifiers and state tournament actually happen. Deadline is March 4th to order. T-shirts are $14 and can be ordered on ClubHubs (order here). The qualifying wrestler names will be printed on the back. The expectation is we have the shirts on or before March 24th.

For anyone who qualifies for Youth State. You need to send the following information to David Sleznikow by Saturday night (715-305-6671 or [email protected]). If he doesn’t get this info, the wrestler will not appear on the youth state t-shirt.

Yesterday Auburndale invited us to have a youth dual with them. It will be held next Friday (2/11) 6pm at Auburndale HS (be there at 5:30pm). Register at https://clubhubs.com/reg122 if you would like to participate. Deadline to register is end of day next Wednesday (2/9). This is a free event and open to PreK thru 5th graders.

Singlets can be returned during any of our 2nd-5th grade practices that are from 5:30pm - 6:45pm on Monday and Thursdays.

We were notified today that the dual would be at the Abbotsford High School instead of the Colby High School. Please plan to be at the Abbotsford High School by 5:30 PM tonight if you have signed up.

No practice tonight since most of the team will be at the Youth Triangular at Colby HS

We will be having a Triangular Youth Dual with Abby-Colby and Stanley-Boyd on Monday January 24th at 6pm at Colby HS. Please arrive by 5:30pm. This is a great opportunity for kids to get some live matches. There are currently a good number of new or very inexperienced wrestlers signed up from the other schools. So don't hesitate to sign up if you have a brand new or inexperienced wrestler. We will be talking about this during the upcoming practices and encourage everyone to participate.

There have been a few questions regarding volunteering and knowing what session their wrestler will be in. We won't know exactly what session your wrestler will participate in until the day before when everyone has registered. Participants will be split equally between the 3 sessions. I can tell you that the youngest wrestlers will be in the morning, working up to the oldest in the afternoon.

Volunteering is required for parents with wrestlers in 2nd thru 5th grade to receive your $100 deposit back. Volunteering is optional for parents with wrestlers in PreK thru 1st grade.
